ASSA ABLOY participated in the 2011 CBD Fair

The CBD fair, as it’s known for short, is a huge affair – on sheer space alone, it covers a total of 300,000 square meter of exhibition space in Guangzhou, in southern China. It consistently ranks as the largest event for the building and decoration industry in Asia.

ASSA ABLOY took up a booth in the pavilion of international door hardware brands, an area reserved for global players in the lock and hardware industry. The group showcased some of its best-known brands, including Yale, Sargent and McKinney products from the Americas, eff-eff and IKON locks from Europe, and electronic-security solutions from ASSA, Securitron and Trimec.

“To demonstrate that ASSA ABLOY is the true world leader that provides complete door opening solutions to users, we installed our lock products on the doors from our group companies, Tianming, Pan Pan and Longdian,” John Xiao, president of ASSA ABLOY’s lock group for Greater China, noted. “ASSA ABLOY’s door automatic solution from Besam, access control products from HID and Vingcard’s locking solution for hotels were also showcased at the booth.”

One of the attractions for visitors was the group’s latest electronic security solutions: the Aperio wireless-access control technology, and IKON’s VERSO CLIQ mechatronic locking system. Visitors were also invited to join the product presentation and demonstration sessions about these latest technologies.

“We believe these well-designed, convenient, safe and secure solutions can give true added value to our customers and lead the industry trend,” Xiao added.

Besides targeting customers from the commercial sector, the booth also brought over a whole Yale Concept Store, aimed at the residential and retail sides. Yale currently has 12 Yale Concept Stores in China, and Yale hopes that presenting its business model for China will help it attract new strategic partners.

“The plan is to open even more stores in the coming years”, Irene Yip, general manager of ASSA ABLOY China and ASSA ABLOY Hong Kong, explained.

“This was really a good opportunity to promote ASSA ABLOY and our group brands, as well as meeting our valuable business partners and distributors,” Yip added. “I would like to thank my team for their hard work, and all the helping hands from sister companies.”
